say no,don't go back, report it to the police do something I just don't get y they all stayed quiet

The entertainment industry is set up where the power is in the hands of the very few. Going to the police means ones career and dreams could be over.
-
And the wealthy and powerful with their team of lawyers shut down any claims the powerless actresses made anyway

I would like to understand: is the article stating that Quentin Tarantino knowingly attempted to injure or kill Uma Thurman at the bequest of Harvey Weinstein by having her drive an intentionally damaged car??
-
I think is more like, he knew it was dangerous and did nothing to prevent the accident because it would be expensive

"Trigger alert: Unfortunately,
@nytimes fired most of its#copyeditors, so the writing could induce headaches. Thurman probably didn't buy Obama a house. Maybe Weinstein did." -
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one.

Reading this thread is infuriating. So much victim blaming/shaming. Some of it by women. Makes me want to

I’m reminded that Uma Thurman and cast were the only good things about QT’s films. Could compare his entire work to that of a rich kid in film school but wouldn’t really be fair to rich kids in film school.

The replies so far to this article are such a huge part of the problem. Women are shamed when they speak out for not speaking sooner, rather than men being shamed for being serial assholes.

Just amazing how people are still in the mind set of blaming the victim.

What kind of asshole director browbeats an actor into doing a stunt they’re not comfortable with, refuses to bring in a stunt driver, and then shoots the stunt FROM BEHIND so the camera can’t see the actor’s face?

hopefully she's angry at the women before her that did NOTHING! And hopefully she's angry at herself because SHE did nothing!

There is no excuse for harassment or assault. But at one time these actresses had to make a decision. To accept Weinstein's actions and become a star or say no and have their career fade. There was a choice.
-
Exactly.
-
There shouldn’t be a choice like that to make. That’s the problem. I hope you understand that.
-
I fully agree, but that's not the point I'm making. To make each account out to be rape is misleading. Weinstein used his power and should be held to the full extent of the law. But the fact remains, many of these women had a choice.
-
I’m not going to agree with that I know women in my life who where raped and put in situations by people they thought they trusted and things happened. It’s hard for them to come forward so no I disagree sometimes they keep quite because they blame themselves takes time to heal
