Breaking News: FBI offices in 3 cities were told that Larry Nassar had molested elite gymnasts. But nearly a year later, gymnastics officials became concerned about the slow pace of the case. During that time, over 2 dozen girls and women were molested.http://nyti.ms/2EChkoP

The New York Times has identified at least 27 girls and women who say that Dr. Nassar molested them between July 2015, when he first fell under FBI scrutiny, and September 2016, when he was exposed by an @IndyStar investigationhttp://nyti.ms/2GKIwSM

On July 27, 2015, USA Gymnastics officials contacted the FBI in Indianapolis. The next day, its chairman and its president met with FBI agents. 41 days had passed since USA Gymnastics first received the report of the sexual abuse of one of its charges.http://nyti.ms/2GKIwSM

Many girls and young women still seeing Dr. Nassar received no warning of the sexual assault allegations. Among them was Emma Ann Miller, now 15. She had about a dozen sessions with Dr. Nassar between the summers of 2015 and 2016, her lawyer said. http://nyti.ms/2GKIwSM pic.twitter.com/ZzDkMscPwD

“Whenever he asked if my lower back hurt, he would always find a way to touch me down there,” Emma Ann said, explaining that Dr. Nassar would say that her pelvis was in need of adjustment. http://nyti.ms/2GKIwSM pic.twitter.com/tYqO8hQ1J2

Emma Ann’s mother struggles with rage. “Look at what he did to my happy girl. Look at all the people who could’ve stopped him earlier. My goal is to find every single one of them in the haystack — expose them all, so this will never happen again."http://nyti.ms/2GKIwSM

Wow this smear campaign against the FBI is getting good! Using this case to attack them is quite desperate!

You figured it out too, eh? It's a classic NYT "White House beat sweetener" - an article designed to please the people in the White House so they'll favor the Times with juicy tidbits that oddly never are as good as what the far more adversarial WaPo gets on its own.

The FBI? Wouldn’t this be investigated by regular police?

Exactly. But it sure sounds like somebody in DC who's currently under FBI investigation wants an excuse to attack the people investigating him. And we all know how much the NYT loves doing beat sweeteners for GOP presidents so they can keep their access.

So you're trying to blame this on the FBI too? Perhaps if @USAGym @TwistarsUSA and @MSU had LISTENED to adults and girls when they spoke up, the FBI wouldn't have had to be involved in the first place. This is on the "Gymnastics Officials." Not the FBI.

It's not the FBI's responsibility nor appropriate for them to notify individuals . They're job was to investigate, gather evidence and present to the appropriate prosecuting entity. Period. Of course, the shameful, Trump Train riding NYT knows that. Disgusting.
