This was incredibly brave & thoughtful. She processed her feeling before coming public with all of the details. Yes, there were 100s of people in these coverups— don’t blame Uma. It was the culture. #timesup

People don’t appreciate the concept of taking the time to reflect & come up with a thought out, measured response. Instead it’s all about saying something immediately because society expects it

-
Demands it.

It breaks my heart to know that
@umathurman felt as though her power had been taken from her during one of my favourite and most empowering films. I will never forgive Harvey Weinstein, and this article has me deeply reconsidering my respect for#Quentintarantino -
Questioning?? He's dead to me. Will never watch another of his movies. The multi-layered betrayals he wrought on his friend and 'so-called' muse, is disgusting. Yes, Weinstein, for sure, but frankly I'm newly HORRIFIED at Tarantino's actions. I am furious reading this.
-
Agreed! Absolutely horrifying. I do not condone Quentin’s actions. I totally and completely support Uma (she should not have been required to drive a car she felt was unsafe), it should be noted that directors should be regulated by the SAG. Shocking that a rep wasn’t there.
-
I'm so sad and angry that she has permanent injuries... I hate Tarantino

Not to minimize what HW did...WHY did these women continue to work with him and take his money, instead of speaking out and saving someone else from harm? I do not get it.
-
Why? Friend at work confided in me that she was verbally abused by a colleague. It was early am/no witnesses. Large male nose to nose screaming in her face. She told him to back off. Notify HR? No. She's freaking out that SHE will be fired b/c he's on the fast track for sr mgmt
-
Bottomline - for as much talk about
#metoo
etc, the reality (fiscal and otherwise) is that we put up with it to keep roofs over our head, etc. It needs to change and I'm a advocate but what do I tell my friend? Tell HR and risk getting fired? Because the risk is REAL. -
She's documenting it but NOT sending it. Not helpful for other victims but she has to protect herself right now.

They still demonize most truth tellers, if you don't make millions or r famous

This article is unreadable, Uma Thurman’s story deserves a better writing, I had to read some sentences three times before getting the sense of it
-
There are a few of us who noticed the mediocre writing
-
Thank you! I thought I was losing my mind - it’s written in such a confusing way

I think it was a disservice to
@umathurman the way the writer@maureendowd told her story. The story telling was a little all over the place. -
You aren't alone. Check out this sentence "Stretching out her lanky frame on a brown velvet couch in front of the fire, Thurman tells her story". Imagine an interview with George Clooney going this way, it would never happen.
-
I know I couldn’t read the whole story. Pizza boxes in the fireplace was where I first started saying what the heck is this article about. I just scrolled down and read a few lines after and that’s it
-
Sad huh considering it was a serious subject.
