The worst flu season in nearly a decade has filled emergency rooms and strained resources at medical centers. “We thought this was peaking a week ago,” a doctor says. “It hasn’t.”http://nyti.ms/2GJvh54

And with power still lacking in parts of Puerto Rico, we are still running low on IV bags since almost every one we use in this country is manufactured in Puerto Rico. And most aren't even talking about it.https://www.snopes.com/did-maria-cause-an-iv-bag-shortage/ …

Medication, too. Been trying to get an important one for a month, but Walgreens' supplier (ABC) can't get it yet. Called around and no one else can either. The plant, in Puerto Rico, was damaged in October, and still isn't back up to full capacity.

It definitely has been awful. All this combined with the resources we lost with Puerto Rico getting hot so hard with the hurricane (they are a huge medical product resource), has really strained the medical field’s ability to care for the masses.

If you get it and still get sick it doesn’t mean it wasn’t helpful. Could lessen the symptoms and prevent other flus

I require the shot every year as my wife has an auto immune disease, and she generally can't get the shot unless cleared by the doctors, I have NEVER had a problem with it, you don't catch flu with the flu shot....science people science

There is a new strain in addition to the typical flu virus that mutates every year. The vaccine is not as effective against the new influenza A (H3N2) virus that’s more deadly and spreading. Seasonal A (H1N1) or influenza B viruses are typically what people suffer from each year
