        As I understand it, subways are handled on the state level. Blaming city gov't for a lack of funding for subways is analogous to complaining that their lunar exploration budget is inadequate.

        Privatize mass transit. Let those who use the subway pay rates based on the market. If no private company wants to buy the system, either shut it down or charge rates to passengers that generates revenues to make the system self-sufficient. Quit financially raping taxpayers.
