Omg. When I went to private school, the sons of tobacco farmers were allowed miss class during harvest. A stock is a stock. This country is too critical of a legal substance. Outlaw it and then I could see her resigning. 🙄

Let me break it down for you: part of the CDC’s mission is to combat diseases including emphysema/cancer which are lcaused by tobacco use. If the Director has a financial interest in tobacco, then that presents a conflict of interests! 1/2

2/2 If a conflict of interest is present then her actions/decisions will always be open to scrutiny and cannot be guaranteed to be in the best interest of the CDC/it’s mission.

She probably put the money in a mutual fund, and the fund manager put money in stock. I’d love to see the whole story. Not just what the Looney Left portrays

Maybe she did but if she still knew what stocks her funds consisted of, it’s still a conflict of interest that she should’ve divested herself from. 1/2

Honestly, I’m not sure why she is resigning since eliminating the conflict is really all that is necessary in my opinion. Makes me wonder if something else is in play. 2/2

...And nobody in Trump's camp knew about this BEFOREHAND? Good grief! At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if Trump appointed a few Michael Myers/Jeffery Dahmers/Lorena Bobbitts; he doesn't seem to know how to do proper background checks.
