What does America's decline look in this scenario? Without being able to watch ppl give themselves brain injury everyone will just overthrow the government? Everyone will move? Commit suicide? Forget american history and identify as Canadians?

Or would ppl just find something else to entertain them, like maybe one of the other dozen professional sports that doesnt cut its players lives in half? Entertainment that doesnt involve watching young healthy men get paralyzed on national TV

When David Baker says "we" he means those who stand to make part of that $14 billion. David Baker and his friends losing money is an American existential crisis, not what happens to these families, not real human suffering. Gross

What utter nonsense. Football is pleasant enough to watch. But if our Republic's very survival depends on a pastime involving grown men fighting over an oval leather ball, perhaps the nation isn't worth saving at all.
