All of the people I know who are strongly pro-life in Ireland are women. Zero are men. #trustresonablepeople?

It’s the quietly pro-life one’s that are the real danger. And I suspect there are a lot more of them. #trustwomen

Its not a gendered issue. Obviously it exclusively effects women but the arguement is about whats considered to be human life. I know a lot of women who are completely against the idea of abortion at any stage.

I didn’t mention gender. I suspect that the number of people you know to be “strongly pro-life” isn’t representative, as so many more are quietly so. But we’re asking everyone, including women, to trust other women to decide if they need a termination.

This is what frustrates me about the debate surrounding this topic. Its all emotional pleas and no convincing arguments. I'm very pro-choice btw.

For me it’s a very important point though, because of the cross section of anti-choicers who think it’s ok to have an abortion if you were raped, for example. Suddenly, it’s no longer “murdering a baby”, it’s the humane thing to do for the woman involved.

Therefore, it’s only the act of conception they’re judging. They’re no longer against abortion, just how a woman has behaved. And they get to decide when she’s worthy of relief. So for them, the message is vital.

See what we have sown. This is bad. Abortion is murder. My people were smarter than this. They are too close to the godless EU and watching too much CNN. I hope they are smart but clearly behind the curve..... The winds are changing freinds.

A woman needs to be able to decide whether to put herself through pregnancy and giving birth and everything that follows. It's a personal decision (not referring to a late term abortion of a healthy fetus).

I'm a woman. I don't believe in God, or anything supernatural for that matter. I live in a (still) markedly Catholic nation. I value strongly my freedom and private property (which includes my body). Still, I'm against abortion. It kills a being that is not the person it grows...
