The idea that preventive care can lower health care costs is widely appealing. Unfortunately, it's also untrue.http://nyti.ms/2Emsuh4

I guess this was a study funded bythe Koch Brothers? The cost of treating someone after developing cancer, diabetes, heart issues, high blood pressure and stroke far exceed the coats of preventative screening and care.

Investing in addressing the Social Determinants of Health, poverty, suitable housing, food security, education, social isolation will improve overall health and make communities stronger. #healthequity

idk, I think having my aneurysm coiled before it ruptured probably saved money AND my life. Preventative care works. I wouldn't even have known about it without "preventative care" by my ophthalmologist who noticed visual changes.

Ok BS. The cost of $3 per month for a blood pressure medication is fat cheaper than a stroke. Mng diabetes is far less expensive than amputation, organ failure, coma. On & on & on.

Preventive care lowers costs in countries that have enough Primary Care Providers. The United States has a critical shortage of PCPs and it's getting worse by the day. This means patients utilize the more expensive ER because they can't get in w/ their doc. #StudentDebtCrisis

Makes for a healthier society around you. How much does it cost if you stay away from a dentists preventive care?

This is highly suspect. Managing high blood pressure before a stroke is clearly far less expensive than treating a stroke in an emergency room. You can say this about any illness. Cancer screenings are far, far cheaper than treating advanced stages of cancer itself.

Wouldn't more people go to the dr when they have coverage? Makes sense to me. So having people live longer leads to more costs. SHOCKED!

Are you asking if it's okay to be racist? No, it's not okay to be racist, and there's nothing "true" about racism. Next question.
