We don't need to pay the MTA more for anything. They need to spend better. And we don't have control over where they build subway stops so why should someone's taxes go up because a random subway stop appears?

Absolutely correct. Public infrastructure creates private wealth which needs to be tapped. It is possible to create special assessments tied to roads, utilities, subway stops etc. Bravo Cuomo,

New Yorkers shouldn't pay the MTA extra for anything, they already milk enough money from us as it is

Let the MTA purchAse property near subways and invest profits back into system.

The good thing about democrats is that they always can find a way to tax someone for something.

Wasn't that the concept of Toll Roads? Let those who use and benefit from them pay the freight? (Of course that isn't what happened Fed Money goes to toll roads all day long)

If their property values increase they already pay more in taxes. How about a tax to walk on the sidewalk? How about taxing the sunshine? Did you think of that Andy? What about birds singing? More tax?

Looks political to keep the mta as the bad man. Why should the mta impose taxes? That's a governments job, not one for the transport company.
