Why attack a hotel? Why turn an ambulance into a car bomb? We examine the desperate calculus behind the Taliban's war on civilians.http://nyti.ms/2EhAfVG

There's no desperation in their calculus. Desperate people are rushed, sloppy, and chaotic. These attacks are anything but. And only a fool thinks a sixteen year war is going well.

When we've stayed longer and end up losing more Americans than we lost in Vietnam, what could possibly be the answer then? And the blame isn't solely with one party or person- it's every political idiot that refused to see reality for what it is.

*And it also lays with those in uniform who are willing to go before a microphone or camera and reinforce political policy statements.

The Taliban want to expose the Afghan government as weak and corrupt. They’ll then imply that only they can protect the people. Al-Qaeda in Iraq/ISIS did the same thing in Syria/Iraq attacking NGOs, coalition partners, and contractors.

Americans are achieving what they wanted to achieve with the drone attacks. If it promotes terrorist organization then why is it so difficult to understand that promoting terrorism is what suits them.
