You are morally virtuous in adoption over murder, but I can’t imagine not feeling overwhelming love toward my first born daughter, in holding her in my arms for the first time. I cannot go as far as call you a bad person, as my lens and world view are different, but damn it lady

BlindJusWarrior that was delicately put & it takes a human w/a good heart to view & write it as you did. You're kind. Now, if only we could just get others to tweet, speak, write that way the world could be different. 👍😊

What a horrible answer by the ethicist. Clearly doesn't understand adoption issues, and so patronizing toward the adult adoptee, who he can't help calling a child and refers to the need to search as mere "curiosity". He should issue a retraction and apology.

I was given up for adoption in NY. After a private investigator located my birth mother, I was devastated to be rejected a second time by her. Through recent DNA testing, I discovered a close relation on my paternal side. Fear of further rejection has kept me from reaching out.

While I hate to admit it the article is right. The birth mom is in no way obligated to form a relationship with the child she gave away. However, said birth mom would have to be a heartless bitch.
