The best strategy for Amazon would be to announce that they were not seeking any tax handouts - rather, they (looking at you Bezos) would be giving all that back and then some to smooth the transition - and make the new HQ2 MSA an exemplar for abundance...

i.e. everybody fed, housed, and health care -- then jobs (meaningful engagement), then luxury - we can all have it if our leaders will take us there...watching the debate on tax breaks for amazon is some late stage ridiculousness.

for a more thoughtful rant -- https://www.inquisitr.com/4757531/democrats-criticize-the-amazon-hq2-bidding-war/ …. Truly outrageous. People will probs hold parades when they 'win'. Bezos cans change this right now...a mouse click away, from saying, you know what? they are right...do it Jeff.

Why not fix the awful and inhuman working conditions amazon employees currently face? Fucking clown Bezos.

Unfortunately for #Pittsburgh ... our mayor has refused to let us see our #AmazonHQ2 bid... so, it’s impossible for us to tell what impact it may have on us. This lack of #transparency is not in keeping with the tenets of #GoodGovernance

Incentives = take from the middle class and give to the rich through a form of corporate welfare. Be sure to cut corporate taxes while your at it, so you will never recoup the investment.

So amazon puts local retailers out of business, avoided state and sales taxes until the states SUED them, and now they begging for tax credits to move in and hurt more local jobs? Insane. Greed is insatiable

The tragic irony, of course, is that Amazon has COST U.S. CITIES TRILLIONS in LOST MUNICIPAL SALES TAX REVENUE since entering the marketplace.

I think maybe it is a bad deal!! I feel that every city in the US commit to no tax breaks or incentives for Amazon!!! Jeff Bezos is worth over $108 billion. He can afford to build anything he wants!!! If he chooses outside the US so be it then it will be up the consumers!!!
