Don’t run from the police, complying with them goes a long way to prevent any shooting....It is called common sense.

I’m not an officer, and I haven’t gone through police training, that point is irrelevant. Even ignoring that, what the officer did is not legal, so...

When I was 20 yo, I was pulled over by Sacramento Co SD bc my car matched one they were looking for. 3 officers, guns aimed at me, shouted conflicting commands. I was scared and confused. They didn't shoot. Lucky me. They let me go minutes later, not so much as a "sorry."

3 cops, shouting alternately "KEEP YOUR HANDS UP!" "OPEN THE DOOR!" "DON'T MOVE!" "KEEP YOUR HANDS UP!" "OPEN THE DOOR!" "DON'T MOVE!" I froze, hands up, crying, begging them not to shoot. Lucky for me, I was white and female. What if???

Disregard, just read the thread. Similar things have happened to me on several occasions over the years, as recently as last summer. In retrospect, I suppose my being of the Caucasian persuasion was an slight advantage. Long-haired, Rock&Roll biker - not so much 😕

In my experience, most police either LOVE or HATE motorcyclists, with very little "grey area" where their feelings are concerned. If THEY ride, there's usually a much better outcome than if not. And the ones who have a daughter with a biker boyfriend? #FuggetAboutIt 😕

So guy stops in middle of road for unknown reasons. Gets rear ended. Flees when cops show up. Stops. Refuses to get out of the car. Flees again. Stops again. Refuses to get out of the car. Flees again... I'm not attacking the cops for this crap. STOP RUNNING FROM POLICE. Thanks.

Being an idiot shouldn't qualify for the death penalty. Police officers need to show restraint, even when an individual is being noncompliant. Only shoot when lives are in danger.

The police don’t know what he is thinking. People are unpredictable. He had a 2000 pound weapon that could put a lot of people in danger including the officers.

One is sure police are trained and taught less lethal de-escalation and apprehension techniques. So why are those deployed so infrequently, when circumstances merit?
