An accused pot farmer awaited trial in upstate New York jails for 7 years. When a court finally freed him, it was scathing about the delay.http://nyti.ms/2DApSiO

How many thousands of pounds of heroin poured across the New York State border in the seven years this guy rotted away in jail for growing weed? How many thousands of overdoses?

The wheels of justice move slowly, and often with no connection to any actual justice.

We need to reform our Court system. Think how many people we don't hear about. Some plea to crime they did not do just to get out of jail. There is a lot of good but we need work on the bad aspects of justice. It is not fair to the mostly poor that can't afford a defense Lawyer.

Significant that plea-bargaining has been come so ingrained in the 'justice' system that insisting on trial is considered evidence of mental incompetence
