Why? Why are DACA peeps so important that we cover this story non-stop for 6 months.

Because children who grew up here and have lived here their whole lives, who have contributed, who serve in our military, now face being deported to countries they've never known. That's cruel.

But they would serve the world better if some of the older one that have family in their country of origin return.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPjzfGChGlE …

Just because my ancestors are from france doesn't mean I want to learn a new language and leave the only home I've ever known. I'm not really getting the point of your argument here.

These DACA peeps know their language and were in their early teen and early 20's when they came here. They would service the world better if they take their talents and ingenuity to their country of origin & make it better there. Helping other lift themselves out of poverty.

You don’t even qualify to get DACA if you arrived in your early 20’s. That would mean the person knowingly made the decision to come to the country illegally as an adult.

Are you personally on any government subsidies like Medicaid or SNAP or is your college being paid for by the government? Are many DACA peeps that you know of?

No to all. I graduated; I’m not currently enrolled. My college scholarship was provided by the university’s honor program- not by the government. I know 3 other DACA recipients.

DACA? @BarackObama already laid out the basics: a temporary stopgap measure and not a path to citizenship, right??

It's time to Stop the "temporary stopgap measure." DACAs are actually FAKE AMERICANS a.k.a. foreigners!

You're fake "American" by being white alone. Look into your relatives' past, someone in your family was likely to have had slaves and looking further back you'll find them immigrating from Europe or Asia or anything, really. Because that's what the US is made of: Immigrants.

DACA along with comprehensive immigration reform should be achievable. We just need to ignore the extremists on either side and get an agreement the middle 80% of Americans can support. You will never keep the extreme elements happy so don't even try. Focus on the majority.

Yes, I fear you are correct. We need to elect Congress members who are a bit more pragmatic and a bit less idealist. Difficult to negotiate when idealist on both sides dig in. MSM only covers the extremes. This sells papers. They are part of problem. See if Trump can get a deal!

DACA was a manufactured problem by Trump. Now he wants to fix it by demanding the wall. I suggest that the Dems just say no. Let Trump deport a few DACA kids. Let Ryan and the GOP remain silent. Let's take back Congress in 2018 and pass comprehensive immigration reform.
