Drag, to RuPaul Charles, is about the perversion of our understanding of gender, and by extension, ourselveshttp://nyti.ms/2E5QZiE

Please reconsider using that isolated and non-contextualized quote from the article as your lead in. It's implying something seriously contrary to the meaning @RuPaul intended in this interview and discussion. "We queens take on identity, and it is always a social statement,”

Maybe consider instead, "regardless of gender and orientation, “we all have more in common than not.”

Gender roles and gender are a social construct, e.g., girls do this, boys do that. Gender is in the mind, not the ‘parts’. What sex you are is in the parts. When there is dysphoria between the mind and the parts is when the difficulties begin.

Is "perversion" really the word used? I feel like @RuPaul used? I feel like he was talking about breaking down barriers and re-examining how we think about each other. Not something negative like perversion

Let me try something here. Penis penis penis. Vagina vagina vagina. Gender roles on the other hand is accepted as taboo. Different per culture and literally no single person’s business. We all put on pants, some just wear them differently.
