The object of Trump’s solar tariff wasn’t to create jobs. It was to keep solar energy from dethroning the wicked King Coal and Queen Oil just a little bit longer.

Anyone in or even casually observing the industry or national economy at large know a 30% tariff isn't going to reverse decades of unfavorable manufacturing policy. What this will do more effectively is reduce installations, a much more significant number of solar jobs.

Possible reduction of jobs for installers of solar panels. Definite increase in cost to consumers. There is a balance between cost and jobs, is this tariff necessary? Power company’s like anything that will negatively impact solar industries. Follow the money— utilities are happy

Thanks to @realDonaldTrump : 330 new jobs will be created this year at the Ohio @WhirlpoolCorp washing machine factory. Yay team. but... 260 Million Americans will have to pay 50% more for a new washing machine they actually want, made by @lg or @Samsung whomp whomp.

Yeah, one of the main things of the campaign was to get the fearful bigot vote so @realDonaldTrump could get his old school f@#$ richer, because @BarackObama was ruining that system. Maybe put a reporter on that theory. Also, the president is a racist.

Solar, wind, and hydro power are going to take over the energy business, @realDonaldTrump you're such a big failure that you've chosen to elevate China as the leading green energy country somehow.

It’s not meant to create American jobs. It is meant to prop up the oil and coal industries. Oil and coal money, hop on the new bus or become inconsequential. Can you say “Kodak”?

And no tariffs on GM products made in China. Nor are there tariffs on Volvo which was purchased and now manufactured in China. The only thing #Trump really cares about is his personal profit. Shameful conflict of interest should be criminal.

US manufacturer's will meet all the solar panels needs of the world. Supply and demand. As demand rises, manufacturing will rise to meet the need.
