        The fact any comments having to do with history and slavery turns into a smack down of contemporary, main stream figures shows how uneducated most people who follow NYT are. Not even hating on the NYT, just the people who drive the paper to pander to stupid vague correlations

        @BenHRaines @matthewhaag Slavery was one of the worst decisions America’s ever made. Accepting that it happened is one thing, but “we’ve” never recovered. Much like rape survivors, we certainly don’t welcome symbols that trigger memories of what we lost. https://g.co/kgs/Rec3Ux
