Rachel Morrison is the first woman to receive an Oscar nomination for best cinematography. "I hope that it tells more women that they can get behind the camera," she said.http://nyti.ms/2E3ZpHd

I dislike how every time a woman does something she is immediately asked to share her success with all women who “may now do what she worked so hard to accomplish.” No. She was nom’d because of her talent and her work, and it doesn’t mean every girl reading this can do it too.

Great, but still rooting for Roger Deakins, I mean come on, give him an Oscar already.

Speaking of women, Angelina Jolie has produced some of the best pictures and no recognition was ever granted. #shame

So? Why should she get and Oscar then? If she’s a producer then all she would be doing is giving money and monitoring the directors decisions

Are you trolling? Have you even bothered to watch those 2 movies before you criticize? The Oscars are no longer about art but politics, please!

I thought you wanted equality? Was she the first PERSON to win this award? No. Why add "first woman". That's not equal at all.

If it was equal, then the first woman nominated wouldn't have been in 2018. Also you'd be in the kitchen making a sandwich.

If You had one of my sandwiches, you'd change your tone. Ask my wife. With the negativity going around about men, why acknowledge the fact a man did it first by saying "first woman". Seems counter productive. One question, who votes and picks nominees? All men?
