Perhaps the greater issue rests with the horrendous traffic conditions, brutal road surfaces, overpopulation and frequent accidents (many involving tractor trailers during rush hours). Just a thought.

Or reliable public transportation. NJT is a disaster.

Imagine the traffic once it’s a Sanctuary State? Insurance rates in NJ after that? Can you say mass exodus? #SanctuaryCities

City is going to lose, NJ case law is against this, “the Legislature granted municipalities broad power to regulate their streets, N.J.S.A. 40:67-1, that power does not include the right to prohibit their use by nonresidents.” https://scholar.google.com/scholar_case?case=8190426078752603667&q=residential+streets+nonresidents+traffic&hl=en&scisbd=2&as_sdt=4,211,212 …

Wouldn't it be easier to change some streets to not be through streets? That is what a town near where I live did to deal with a traffic problem due to a near by AF base. I sure hope only local tax dollars are used for these streets.

I don’t see how it’s legal to bar vehicles from local roads. This will get challenged in court. If the existing infrastructure cannot handle the car traffic, improve it. Imagine if Staten Island barred all those cars from NJ who are trying to get into Brooklyn
