This move is almost as stupid as his supporters response to it. Why? Because none of them have two brain cells to rub together. None of them have taken the time to consider that this will literally drive prices up across the board. There is no competition.

This is clear market manipulation by the administration and will lead to lower quality and higher prices for consumers as well as retaliation by other countries. They will slap tariffs on USA products which will hurt us long term.

It’s time for Americans to enjoy top quality products and also employment of Americans this will help increase the minimum wage in the long run

History shows quite the opposite effect. The Tariff Act of 1930 destroyed the US economy and hit manufacturing particularly hard. When the cost of components rise, companies slash their payroll.

And that’s why history does not count here as the economy of today is driven by a lot of things that did not exist during that time so I would not hope much on the past that’s for sure

The rise of global megacorporations has concentrated the supply pool well beyond what it was in the Roaring 20s. Our manufacturing base has contracted considerably since then. The laws of supply and demand have not changed, and the variables are not changing in our favor.

The principal of demand and supply of course remains the same the variable affect it more hence shifting the economic scale to be unpredictable due to the demographic change an also high political tensions that lack during the 30s only affected after the first n Second World War

Today's headlines already did elaborate. The solar panel tariff is going to raise prices up to 30% and will cost 23,000 jobs. The washing machine tariff has already driven retailers to consider dropping Kenmore machines because of the sudden price increase.
