We shouldn't even be importing solar cells, we should be producing them along with wind turbines, but instead let's open all of our coasts for oil drilling and dig up some of that good ol American cleaning burning coal. At least We won't see the sinkholes with breathing masks on

I hope Americans realize that 45 is gutting this country. Tariffs on products that we need and want, especially solar, its a money saver on LI. Companies aren't creating anything in the US, product or jobs either. How is this making us great? NOT!! 👊

Maytag is out of business, they started making crappy products. Does he think this will bring them back, it won't. he doesn't want solar here in America. he wants oil and coal.....Russia has major investments in oil, hoping to be drilling in the arctic regions here. Deal made

The Chinese government subsidizes solar companies. Set winners and does it openly. This is one thing the USA should have done long before Trump showed up in the picture.

So? We get cheaper and better products at the expense of the Chinese taxpayer. Their loss, not ours. It's essentially a form of philanthropy from Chinese govt

Not really. We get cheaper goods in the short term that will diminish solar energy innovations at home for future generations to come. Obama tried by the way. How can this be good other than letting the Chinese dominate crucial technology?

Who cares if China "dominates" the solar sector? Would Chinese competition not incentivise US solar innovation? The use of tariffs goes entirely against the GOP's once highly held values of the power of the free market.

We are also the 3rd largest exporter in the world. Behind China & the EU. We could export much more. That is what our focus should be. Not getting in a trade war with China & the world. Solar is the future. We can build it better. Oil & Gas will be a dinasour soon.
