Saw that. When I was writing Rosie someone asked me if the character was still living at the time. I said “Yes.” She would have been 91-94 years old while the project was active in 2011-2015.

Must admit to bit of unearned pride that the Rosie of song put together Corsairs.

But it's the girl that makes the thing that drills the hole that holds the spring that works the thing-ummy-bob that makes the engines roar. And it's the girl that makes the thing that holds the oil that oils the ring that works the thing-ummy-bob that's going to win the war.pic.twitter.com/T4drSEfA4A

Truly a #WomanAfterMineOwnHeart💜. Just goes to show ... you never KNOW the impact of even the smallest contributions. She probably had no idea how #BIG her part would play overall in the #Movement. RIP #RosieTheRiveter and #THANKYOU🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

RIP, lovely lady, HOWEVER, no, she was not really "Rosie". Her photo WAS LIKELY inspiration for the Westinghouse image "We Can Do It!" we know. BUT, B4 than was the song "ROSIE THE RIVETER" based on an ACTUAL Rosie - Rosalind P. Walter, AND Rockwell's SEP painting of Mary Keefe.

Another "Rosie the Riveter" who appeared in the WWII film was named Rose Will Monroe and she worked at the #WillowRun bomber plant in #Ypsilanti MI. She passed in 1997. This is why Ypsi is in competition with California & currently has #GuinnessRecord for Most Rosies in 1 place.
