At Amazon’s new convenience store, checking out feels like — there’s no other way to put it — shopliftinghttp://nyti.ms/2DWj2AU

Technological dystopia alert. Gonna need that UBI to kick in for the average person who works a job such as food service, cashier, etc.

So money is basically funneled into Bezos' account more efficiently without pesky cashiers having to be paid? Neat!

And you @Amazon won't have to deal with people's unions, as it is happening now for you in many countries where there are LAWS protecting human workers.pic.twitter.com/lGBj6aN5XD

If 100 people rushed to the store and grab everything very quickly can the machine keep up?

So are the items chipped at @amazon store or are the barcodes automatically recognized via phone? If chipped, greater implications and perhaps bigger reason why created stores? More ways to collect data/track you? 🤔

Way too much artificial intelligence watching you with hundreds of cameras at a time every time you look at something or pick something up no thanks. I’ll stick with my old school shopping routine.

I'm skeptical, to say the least. It's shopping without really realizing how much money we spend. Great concept for Amazon, but the shopper needs to be careful and aware of their spending. I wonder what @danariely would say to this?
