When Amazon introduced its first e-reader, publishers panicked that digital books would take over the industry. But print is holding steady — even increasing — and e-book sales have slipped.http://nyti.ms/2EYr4Zr

I’m legally blind. The ebook evolution has been the worlds greatest gift. I can read print again! I no longer have to hold a several pound book up to my nose for hours at a time. I can hold my half pound kindle paperwhite and read comfortably. It’s. Amazing.

The issue with e-books is that entry into the market is now relatively simple and overall quality is lacking. Want to go wading and hope to find something worthwhile? Print books are still vetted by editors.

It''s interesting that e-book sales are slipping given how convenient and functuonal e-readers are! The @amazon Kindle is still my favorite way to read:http://amzn.to/2DAvAjS

I’ve read a few books on a device. It’s “ok”, but much of what I read I also mark up in pencil. Also, clunky when looking for a passage or whatever. Thumbing back is so much better with paper book than flipping back e-pages forever. I’m back to paper books

You can set bookmarks and even under line or highlight significant passages. I'm even able to borrow and return books.

Yes, I’ve tried that & have a kindle, kobo, & phone. Just not 4 me. I read many yrs ago that when ppl read text on screen, 4 some reason part of processing in brain is done by same part used 2 play video games. Interesting - I have no problem w/novels, but do w/academic works. 🤔

Self-publishing & Amazon pushing its titles probably haven't helped much. There's a lot of bad books to wade through. Also, Kindle (& Fire) devices don't last very long, ebooks are expensive, & note-taking is limited & awkward.

I've given money to charities, showed up to work at charities and have lead teams of volunteers and let me just say this, someone like Kenya would have been pulled aside or sent home for the way she was speaking to volunteers. She made Habitat for Humanity look bad. #RHOA

It's easier to flip back and forth with a book. I like my ereader when traveling but at home prefer real books.
