What if I don't want a passport? I have no plans to travel outside of the U.S. so why should I be compelled to obtain a passport just to travel between states?

Does your state’s DL comply with REAL ID? If not, pressure them. PA had state law that prohibited PennDOT from complying. Had to get that changed first. Ours will be rolled out in 2019 as optional, but will cost an extra $60 if you want it.
