The irony of the symbol of America's open arms to immigrants remaining open when the rest of the gov't shuts down over the racist anti-immigrant policies of Rex's moron and self-certified Sooper Geenius @realDonaldTrump will be lost on @POTUS. #25thAmendmentNow

We should just throw a sheet over Lady Liberty with a sign, “UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT” and keep the monument closed until this regime is ousted. Her message no longer applies. #ImpeachTrump

Many people don't understand that that poem came much later. Bringing in anyone that wants to come was never the sentiment behind the statue. But let's rewrite history and quote a poem.

I'm actually surprised our current Administration doesn't tear her down. After all, it is going against everything Lady Liberty stands for.

Does this symbolize a return to welcoming the tired, the poor, huddled masses, etc.? I certainly hope so.
