Kelly showed who he was after the deaths in Niger. Ruined whatever good rep he had up to that point. Told lies but no apology as far as I know.

Ds are voting to block it... That puts a shutdown squarely on them. Not saying that's a good or bad thing, but it's pretty hard to pin this one on Rs.

A bunch of Rs are voting to block it, and they are the majority party in both houses. When you run every branch of government, its failures are YOUR failures.

It requires 60 votes, not 51. Regardless of McCain's absence and a few defections, Ds are needed for it to pass no matter what. That puts this on them.

During the last government shutdown during Obama Trump said over and over that it is the president's fault for not leading so let's hear his words right now it's president Trump's fault for not leading.

Fair point - definitely room to lay some blame at his feet, too. Just don't think you can make the case it's all on him when Ds are holding out despite reasonable compromise on CHIP.

Democrats aren't blocking anything. A bi-partisan group already brought forward a plan both sides agreed to, but Trump rejected it (after he said he'd sign whatever Congress brought him). So, who is doing the blocking? Please fix your reporting.

Please fix your dang reporting. How is this the minority party's fault in anyway? Trump rescinded DACA. Trump blocked a bipartisan deal. The GOP let CHIP expire. The GOP controls every branch. This is on them! #TrumpShutdown #GOPshutdown

FFS New York Times - This is misleading. Bi-Partisan group wants to extend funding for several days so comprises on DACA, military funding CHIP can be reached. @NYTimes don’t be part of the problem be part of the solution.

This is garbage! GOP controls all branches of government. If it was unified they would need zero Dem input (see: tax law). The issue ain't Dems it's a fractured GOP.
