Teaching everyone the Dutch Door Open manoeuvre would also help: reaching across yr body to open the door helps you look backwards so you can check for cyclists. Wdn't fix 100% but wd reduce risks for all.

Maybe if bikers actually obeyed the same traffic and pedestrian laws, this wouldn't be an issue. I get run into by bike messengers crossing red lights as a pedestrian daily. Cyclists do not obey the law, they don't wear helmets & don't obey traffic lights in NY.

Bike lanes are already ruining the roads causing insanity with traffic. Nyc is turning into garbage.

Hopefully they will follow traffic laws just like car drivers, STOPPING FOR RED LIGHTS so pedestrians can walk safely too!

Will cyclists be paying for this or paying some sort of direct tax towards it? You do realise pollution will go up. Its gone up in London above traffic growth so its all down to cyclelanes. @SadiqKhan has a problem understanding this.😎

Well as you're the one making the claim, it's up to you to provide the evidence. But seeing as you asked.https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/cities/2017/jun/16/myth-bike-lanes-congestion-pollution-debunked …

I am not going to waste my time. London's pollution levels have risen higher than traffic growth. So the only variable is #cyclelaneskillinglondoners Maybe you should get better informed?🤔

Ive read that article. Traffic has continued to grow at a consistent rate, road space has been lost, so its a 'no fucking brainer'. The #Guardian is more biased & tells more outright lies than the Telegraph & I am left of center, so work that one out. @TfL & @SadiqKhan r nutters.

In #Romania , pedestrian and cyclists are run over and killed on crosswalks and sidewalks EVERY DAY, for years now. The @guv_ro answer: more tax reductions for people owning powerful cars and they go free anyways, especially if they are relatives to someone in the #Government !
