I made a playlist my brother can listened to on his last days on earth. It brought a smile to his face.

I witnessed this when my 90 y.o. mother passed in hospice. She was not conscious but the woman who came to play guitar & sing at her bedside was comforting to my 93 y.o. father who was also there. She played their song. The look on my dad's face was priceless. Music transports.

I am a certified therapeutic musician (CMP) playing/singing live music, bedside, for healing and end-of-life transition. I believe this is actually speaking about CMPs, rather than Music Therapy. (Altogether different approach, not just semantic.) Thanks, just the same.

We have volunteers who go into our in-patient care centers and patient's homes to play (guitar/hammered dulcimer) and sing to them. It is an absolute gift to all!

It was like a small family party in my mom, Grace’s, room when she passed two years ago. My son, sister and I were there reminiscing with her & playing some of my moms favorite music 🎶 during her last hours with us here in the mortal world. It was a beautiful send off.

I tried to do this when my mother was passing. My brother changed the channel to a football game when I left the room... ugh
