For decades the E train in NYC has been one of the lines most used by homeless people to sleep because it stays underground, insulating riders from the coldhttp://nyti.ms/2EElknE

Somehow this is "normal" in our "civilized" country.

It’s nice to see a humane attitude toward homelessness, “it’s not a crime.”

American shame. Anything that requires giving money away to its citizens that won't pay it back but America gives $50.1 BILLION DOLLARS away in 2017 in foreign aid, Surely charity begins at home. Money should be spent on long term hostels.

I bet you wouldn’t want to live in a long term hostel.

I would if I got three meals and medical treatment. I have been homeless and just to know that someone cares enough to help you get back to a position in life where you can function again is miraculous. Not all homeless people are addicts.

Maybe 45th should fix what's wrong with the U.S. before calling other countries shitholes. What other industrialized country has the same problems we have and treats them the same shitty ways?

This has gone on long enough. Our veterans, our homeless, our mentally ill, and our elderly have been treated like crap. I keep waiting to see a politician pop-up that can save our healthcare and our Americans. I’m not holding my breath.
