As a photographer, I specialize in erotic male images. I can say that it is absolutely NOT necessary to physically touch a model or have private nude sessions in order to get a certain expression or type of image. This kind of exploitation is wrong 1/2
-
Models should be respected and honored that they are willing to be vulnerable and trust others with their image. They should be protected against harm and exploitation and trusted when they speak up about violations 2/2

This is terrible, yet not surprising. This shows that it's not a gendered issue. It's a power issue and it needs to be addressed. Also, When the Boston globe exposed the priests targeting young boys nobody asked why they didn't come forward earlier. Why are we doing it now?
-
Don't ask why they didn't come forward earlier, ask instead what made them fear speaking out.
-
@nytimes this is a great article and clearly well researched. Hopefully more people will understand that harassment and assault are true issues and not just people's overreactions - 1 more reply

if models are generally naked in the photoshoots, they are practically advertising they are free to anyone. If you get paid to be naked, you will be taken advantage off.
-
did you really just said this!
is there no such thing as self-restraint
...your "will be" sounds like you're implying it as a rite of passage!! -
learn to apply some thinking power based on human behavior, especially when it comes to self respect. We do not live in the jungle, we are now meant to be civilised. Yet being naked is part and parcel to entice product sales.
-
Is this some publicity stunt Tweet thingy!!! ...I'm NOT having this convo because you definitely have a very 'strong' mindset!
-
yes, its called using rational. Learn to use it.

And why they allowed it?

You might not realise what a “big deal” Mario Testino & Bruce Weber are. If you were a young model & you pissed one of them off - you wouldn’t be a model any more. Men can feel vulnerable too - personally, financially & professionally.
-
Men feel vulnerable 2 because they're human. I see a dif when it's a man harassing, sexually assaulting a woman compared to another man. It's been a patriarchal world where white men have ruled. Sucks 4 these guys, feel bad 4 them but just being men they still had the upper hand
-
Victims of harassment/assault are victims of harassment/assault, without qualification. And in the modelling world the truth is men make less and have less influence and power than women. So....yeah.
-
Sexualy assaulted as a boy with the first naked pictures of women in papers like Playboy (big tits)Hustler (big pussy), some years later almost all newspapers showed this pictures, then came the mini and hotpants, bikini, monokini and "fio dental" and men are hassased 24/7
