I’ve had the distinct pleasure of visiting Rwanda and some of the memorials from the genocide. They were absolutely heartbreaking and incredibly powerful. The beauty of the Rwandan hills and it’s immaculate capital city make it hard to comprehend that such a tragedy occurred.

Rwanda is breathtaking with all green hills and fantastic nature. A country with the saddest history is rising to the most powerful country in Africa. Loved my visit.pic.twitter.com/N13OEHE6u6

@bareknucklelove Like many African countries, it’s largely agricultural. I fail to understand why that’s an issue for you? Still very beautiful.

Read the 2016 book "Bad News" by Anjan Sundaram about press suppression in Rwanda and your impression will change. Perhaps they only showed you what they wanted you to see.

Why read a book when you can experience it yourself? China and Asia developed materially without much free press or so-called democracy

I’m not surprised. Kigali is a fabulous city & Rwanda 🇷🇼 a beautiful, lush, green, hilly country. Rwandans are amazing & the genocide memorial is the most poignant place I’ve ever been.

Wow! This is the real Kigali. Many still think Rwanda in Genocide context but things have massively changed. Safety and security are assured and freedom is a basic right. Kigali is one of the best place to live in around the world.
