Republicans in Congress are rushing to retire, a clear recognition that Trump’s low approval rating will be a heavy weight on the partyhttp://nyti.ms/2AKp6cD

#GOP has killed itself. They will lose in 2018 and Dems will FINALLY gain control and oust Trump if #Mueller doesn't get him first

How are you going to oust trump? 25th amendment? You need 2/3 of house, 2/3 of senate and the Vice President to vote for it.... that’s not likely

If the GOP really wanted their party survive with INTEGRITY, they should abandon "party over country" & work with Dems to remove Trump, one way or another. As the GOP would still have the entire government anyway, they wouldn't lose anything except an ALBATROSS. DO IT. Save GOP

A better metaphor is "albatross" around the Congressional GOPs' necks.

Your tweet misses point. Republicans’ own votes for wildly unpopular + non-populist legislation is what are running from by “retiring.” Running from accountability for their votes + what they are doing to the country. Trump just part of the load they have created for themselves.

“Republicans in recent days, and Mr. Trump, have been talking up the idea of bipartisanship in 2018”...now that the writing is on the wall and they can’t do what they want. Guess what...what goes around comes around. Watch them make the same arguments they ignored from Democrats.

Older GOP folks leaving, while young GOP folks must second guess themselves, do I join the Administration, run for congress, am I getting on the Titanic. Am I making the right choice, will I be black balled later.

It's possible that an indictment against Trump is coming and the GOP know something is up. They figure either way they are politically screwed for who knows how long due to this past disaster of a year.
