I have been calling kids little monkey my whole life and before seeing this tweet it would have never occurred to me that if I would have by chance said that to a black child It would have been taken as racist. Its really sad its come to this.

Thank you. Its not so much that I am not familiar. Its more that when I am with children I'm not in that frame of mind. After seeing this or actually thinking about it. I see the issue.I just don't spend every moment thinking about race. I really don't think much on it at all.

So I can't choose to not be a racist because you won't allow it. In other words you won't allow progress and you are willing to be racist to stop it.

No because only Black people have a history of being referred to as Monkeys by other races.... and it still happens at Sporting events in Europe, especially football. Where fans chant monkey noises when black players touch the ball

Yup, thats one of the only effective ways to punish teams to force them to deal with racist ultra fans. shutdown the stadium but let the game be played so they lose gate revenue

I just heard about this problem with soccer (pardon) on a podcast today. That's sick. I honestly think these people are just stupid. I can't explain it. I wonder how the people not doing that felt hearing their own fans engaging the players like that?

It's essentially 2 different sets of fans, Ultras are extremists who tend to be thugs, gangsters, etc..... other fans are just normal everyday citizens. So no one really steps to them because they're dangerous. Clubs won't curb their behavior because they're die hard fans
