I get the sentiment behind Oprah 2020, but normalizing celebrity/mogul presidents is a dangerous road to go down.

Because POTUS candidates have usually been people with median average income in last 200+ years?

It has nothing to do with money and everything to do with experience governing.

Yes. Politics is the only time people want an outsider, apply that thinking to anything else and it sounds absurd. Why go to a mechanic, why not see if a chef has some fresh ideas about replacing brake pads?

No I haven't. People value experience in every other profession but that somehow goes out the window when it comes to the president? Even someone like Barack Obama that didn't have a long political career had a strong background of legal knowledge.

The point is, we've constantly berated Trump for being a non-politician and having no governmental experience. If Oprah ran, we'd just hear nothing but ads of our own words used against us, and rightfully so.

How would she be any worse or more corrupt than Trump? Trump changed the orthodoxy on who can run and become president. Find a "career politician" to run against Trump and they'll be chewed up, spat out like all the others.

Didn't say a "career politician." But experience in government should be on the list of must-haves for the next president.

Will still produce same result against Trump. Last election showed people don’t want cookie cutter politicians.
