Seth Meyers wisecracked about the notion that Oprah Winfrey might run for president. By the end of her speech, it sounded a tiny bit less like a joke, @poniewozik writes.http://nyti.ms/2FeizdP

Oprah is wonderful and exponentially better than DJT. But should we normalize media personalities running for the highest office, despite no prior political experience? And inadvertently harm those with bona fide experience, like Sens. Harris & Gillebrand?

One of the biggest complaints that came from the media and most democrats earlier in Trumps campaign was has was not qualified based on his celebrity status. Now the media is pushing a talk show celebrity to run for president. Complete hypocrisy!

Another person from dysfunction running for president. Let's feel compassion for the people, but we don't need these illegitimate, abandoned people with baggage running R country, e.g. Clinton, Obama.

Hahaha they ridicule Trump for being a millionaire TV star with no political experience and are now promoting someone of the same background. Typical!

Can we please not focus on media/Hollywood types as our next Democratic candidate? Oprah is awesome but if you think she is more qualified to hold the office than @SenKamalaHarris @JoeBiden @SenGillibrand I must strongly disagree

We don’t need any more TV stars as Presidents. She’s an inspiration. Yes. She’s more qualified than the man currently in office. Yes. That doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to elect her leader of the free world.
