Why is medical research so much less contentious than fundamental issues like health insurance coverage?http://nyti.ms/2qDF4pl

The answer is obvious. Medical research has benefits for the plutocracy. Insuring the health of masses of people does not. We live in a plutocracy. Whatever benefits the wealthiest is what happens. This basic fact is the template for answering most questions of the day.

Medical research favors directly those who can afford medical care: rich guys. Making sure that everyone can afford medical care does not do anything to rich guys/politicians.

Make no mistake, people with rare diseases suffer beyond anything you can imagine. There are 15,000,000 children in the US, most with NO TREATMENTS, forget cures. 5,000,000 of these kids will not live to see 5 years old. We are sufficiently ignored!!! Do a story in this!
