Wouldn't it have been much better if she would have been greeted with the hope that she would be the generation that was a part of bringing us all together instead of hate? Truly sad to greet a child's birth in this way.

Austrian people have choosen extrist party as coleader. For my opinion it is very sad some peoples never learn from history
-
Well, the extremist were only the THIRD strongest party, the majority of Austrians did NOT want them. Politicians decided to go this route, not the people. To judge a whole people for what a minority did is not OK. This minority, however, doesn't seem to want to learn.
-
I am nobody for judge any other people. But the extrist party does hight score in all the austrian election since a long time is it possible to govern the country without the extremist?(serious question)
-
Yes, that is a sad trend that has me worried. But it is not an Austrian problem, the whole world seems to fall for the populist right. Still, the majority doesn't want them, so don't give up on Austrians - or any other people - altogether. Why shouldn't it be possible?
-
very large question...

Sad times when it is not universally understood that babies are off limits for hate and racism.

Hey
@ViennaInfoB2B — it's not a secret that your city is as hateful as ever. 1938: My grandmother, who performed with pension at@WrStaatsoper, flees for Switzerland. The Austrian government doesn't agree to reparations until 2005, four years after her death. -
1966: My mother, a child visiting the city and wearing a Star of David necklace, is spat upon by a woman who calls her "Dirty Jew." 2016: Reported cases of hate speech reach record high.https://www.thelocal.at/20161125/hate-speech-cases-soar-in-austria …
-
2018: First birth of year in Vienna is to a Muslim couple. Vienna reacts accordingly. It's a city trapped in the past, unwilling to accept the population changes of the present and future. How did things turn out the last time that happened?
