Not only are they hypocrites on the topic of states rights, they know Nixon started the War on Drugs to target minorities and the political left. They have no shame & use religion to obscure blatant amorality and great disdain for the US Constitution.

would it have anything to do with for-profit prison lobbying? every weird backward thing they do is connected to someone paying them to do it.

Not surprised. States who are contemplating legalizing marijuana should act swiftly. Legalize it now.

The Federal law is unjust. It is based on racism and corporate corruption from 80 years ago. It never subsequently gained any legitimacy. There is no duty to follow or carry out an unjust law.

Mix one part trying to stick it to California and one part digging deeper into your fan base -- the recipe for distracting from impending political doom.

They don't realize that a sizable percentage of their base support legalization and ending the insane War on Drugs.

That’s weird. Most (all?) of the state marijuana legalizations came as a result of state referendums. I’m old enough to remember when Republicans argued for states’ rights and democracy.

It is a discrimination against industry which millions of Americans can be benefited from. This industry, being legal, helps to reduce smuggling and crime rates in this area. I do not know why Mr. Sessions's approach is so outdated and backward?
