I believe this the Shea Moisture owner? I thought he wanted to have a more universal consumer base? 🤔 Hopefully the iconic magazine won't suffer the same fate as the hair care products.

But Unilever bought Sundial, so @Essence is not really black-owned.

If they were a public traded magazine, and I owned any shares, I would dump them, the same I would with a any magazine that has a single ethicality. No chance of reaching a broader base.

The magazine is specifically geared towards Black women. What broader base should it be reaching?

Don't ask him to engage in critical thinking. He's committed to his simple minded "concern-trolling" and "faux outrage". To the degree that such a request from you would shatter his stupid narrative.

Good. Now I will renew my @Essence subscription 👍🏾. I did miss reading it, but I wanted to remain dedicated to the #GrabYourWallet movement.

Jemele why does 80% of what u post have to be around race!? Two of my best friends are black, two of my oldest sons best friends are black and race rarely comes up when we are together. As matter of fact they are sick of people like u who use race in most conversations!

Your "black" friends might be in the sucken place. Or, maybe they don't like discussing race with you or your son. Ever thought of that?
