For years, cuts at the National Health Service have left U.K. hospitals stretched over the winter. This year, the NHS is "under pressure as never before."http://nyti.ms/2CNuIFr

All is not what it seems. Waste, management salaries, gastric bands for teenagers, corrective earlobe surgery(disc earrings) 'diversity' officers, new cars /trips for employees& rampant population explosion, health 'tourism' & politics being played.

Thanks NYT for reporting the truth👍 Us Brits are proud of our NHS but our conservative govt refuse to provide the funding it needs as they want it to fail so they can try privatise it and we'll end up in the mess you Americans are in - that's their plan I think🙄

Dud you know that 69% of #NHS clinical contracts over the last year went to private contractors? They don't 'want' to privatise it, they are. @NHAparty #KONP

Fair point but I meant they want to force us all to have to get health insurance from their donors as in America👍

Doing all they can to get payment pathways into NHS. Current talk of drunk tanks is move to determine divide between 'deserving' & 'undeserving' ill, & who gets coverage. Personal Health Budgets enable this & are thin end of a wedge.

I have numerous crohnic illnesses, so use hospitals here often. I’ve never ever seen them under as much presssure as I have this week. It’s terrifying but the staff are coping amazingly well. I’m currently an inpatient #NHSCrisis

Interesting as the the guy who ran it for 30 years said it was always like this in the 90s under the last Tory government. A few years of proper investment and the political will soon turned it around.

It was Labour under Blair that cut the beds!!🤔

15000 beds cut since 2010. Short staffed and lack of political will under the Tories are causing a crisis. Even the chair of health select committee agrees it is underfunded and lacks the vision required to keep pace with changing demands.

Labour cut 26,000 beds and surely the changing demands you refer are the health tourists we can't afford??

#HilaryClinton praised #nhs for recent A&E treatment of broken bone in foot. Did she pay? 🤣😂🤣 Please surprise me with a copy of the bill. Not blaming her, just pretty sure our great #NHS will have treated for free. What would her treatment have cost in USA?
