The protests that have spread in Iran were set off by miscalculations in a long-simmering power strugglehttp://nyti.ms/2E29UJW

There is no power struggle, just some people fed up with poverty and prices of goods sky rocketing

Forgive me - I was referring to the 8M out of 80M with jobs vs. the 40% that cannot find steady work/good pay/etc., & the lady who spends $3000/month on her pets. Very few with money & flaunting it would set anyone living in poverty off. That’s a power struggle to me.

Dear @nytimes, if you take a closer look at map of Middle East you will find a country called Bahrain. Protests by thousands are a routine, so is tyranny. Please bother fighting for their democracy as well. FYI, it's a long fight they've been fighting if you aren't aware

To be continued, later. Civil movements has started there for one century and every once a while pushed its way and progressed. It is never gonna end here.

If the government shows determination in solving economic problems, people would naturally support it.This protest (despite the death of innocents) is valid, for a world labeled as democratic. We are free by virtue of the constitution, free to express our criticisms and protests!

Iranian people need freedom and support and help. The Islamic Republic government should be burned down. They are killing innocent people. We should support the protesters and let them know we are watching them the world is watching. #FreeIran2018
