Five City Ballet dancers — one of whom is still with the company — came forward in The Times to describe verbal and physical abuse dating as far back as 1993. Here's that earlier story:http://nyti.ms/2zZGp8Y

I’ll get slaughtered for this by the lefties but I feel for this guy. Anon letter and suddenly he has to retire over a cloud that was never proven. Social media is hardly a fair trial is it!!
-
If he is innocent then he should stay and fight. But there is a bit of karma in this moment for men for all the shit women had to endure for millennia just to survive. Innocent women routinely lost jobs/homes/families at the hands of men. It doesn’t make it right if one is...
-
innocent, but there is a feeling of the scales finally balancing. Only when men know what it’s like to fear losing everything will change happen.
-
So an innocent man should hang just to balance the books?? I agree in justice and it’s good women are now coming forward and guilty parties are being dealt with but this guy has “by law” but guilty it seems by mob law!
-
Believe women. After literally hundreds of years of not listening to women and not believing women, the time has come to believe women. Believe them. Period. Being forced to resign or retire isn't some horrible fate for these men. They'll be fine.
-
"Oh woe is me, having to retire to my mansion at the age of 70-something after thirty to forty years of abusing hundreds of women, where's the due process?"
-
A lot of those he abused were men. Because it was physical violence I think the men have been more willing to come forward and be named. The women are apparently mostly anonymous.
-
I should clarify and say “allegedly abused.” I do not know one way or the other. Merely observing that the story identifies several male dancers. But stories about his temper, his relationships with dancers, his behavior towars Heather Watts, etc. abound.

There will b an avalanche of "retirements" or firings in d foreseeable future of men in positions of power...that being said, this demonstrates the crap & shit women have to put up with everyday.
