Just to be clear, Mariah Carey is an icon and a legend. No matter what happens, with all of the records she has broken, awards she has won, looks she has given, and octaves she has hit, she will NEVER have the need to "redeem" herself. Happy New Year!

Hardly “redeeming!” It was still a train wreck to the highest degree. If I am her, I’m either taking some lessons or hanging it up. NW of 500MM—she needs to just go and enjoy her $$.

It was a good performance 100% live in the freezing cold unlike most of the other performers who lip synced ☺

You’re comparing it to lip service and you’re ok w that? For the kind of $$ involved, it needs to be a good job. If the cold is a problem then put some clothes on.

No im saying she sounded good. Shes 47 years old and people expect her to sound like she was at 20 lmao.

But what i said was it was freezing cold and thats why i said some singers chose to lip sync but she didn't.

Great. Fresh off the heels of #me too we get treated to a New Years show with men dressed warmly in subzero weather and a slew of half naked women with flowing hair freezing to death. Maybe report on that @nytimes
