More UFO lies by the mainstream media, I've researched UFOs for the past 30 years and I can tell you this, if there is ET out there, they're not coming in a "ship". #qanon

I don't think many doubt that there could be life out there. Most simply think it is stupid that they would have technology to visit us regularly like a trip to the gas station or that we are all that interesting for them to even bother

There is likely abundant life out in the universe. What makes us so special with regards to an entire universe?

Clearly, there is *something* causing all those sightings - I'm just not convinced it's "aliens" (though it would fit nicely with the "Zoo hypothesis" answer to the Fermi paradox). Has there ever been serious research into the possibility of lifeforms in the upper atmosphere?

Wouldn't it be far more likely to be future earth civilizations visiting in time machines? We are really only interesting to ourselves. Why would aliens bother to visit us?

time travel is *extremely* unlikely - with the Zoo hypothesis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoo_hypothesis … the aliens may just have found us by accident and are now keeping us contained - and right now I'd still bet on a non-alien UFO explanation

Ok, so then what technology allows them to visit us from billions of light years away as if they are making a trip to the grocery store?

there are lots and lots of planets within a few dozen lyrs - with a warp-alcubierre drive this may be possible

Except that the amount of energy that would be required would be immediately perceptible to us. You think it would have no effect on us to have this happen near our planet?

I did not say this was all that likely - perhaps this are just robot probes, dropped here millennia ago?

Or... our future selves created time machines and come back for historical expeditions exactly like we would do if we had a time machine right now, including taking samples and studying them.
