OMG! There's nothing wrong w/ filling a stereotypical gender role! What's wrong is expecting someone to fill it & not giving people a choice. Couples should divide the housework btwn each other so that they r both happy, & maybe sometimes that means woman on dishes man on trash.

It’s their fault. Mine said he would die for me. Who knew it’d kill him to take out the trash? Thus he has the opportunity to prove himself on a daily basis. LOL. Still after a couple of decades the flame burns bright.

If done at night, it's literally a safety issue. Statistically speaking, we're far more likely to be attacked.

Like my mother before me, I've always taken out the trash, not hubby, and if I bothered buying your newspaper anymore, I'd put this article in the bin. Also, can we stop the "liberal coastal elite" bs narrative?

Puh,lease! Plenty of women, men and children of either gender take out the trash. It's called house chores and everyone who doesn't grow up with a silver spoon has to do their part.

Surprises me. I’ve been married twice since 1972 and taking out the trash has always been shared with the issue never raised. The most consistently “gendered” task in our household is barbecuing largely because my wife hates the smoke
