You sat there and listened to him lie over and over. What is the point in that?

You should have just sent a tape recorder. It was a Trump selfie.

Because what the world needs now is more of Trump’s unchallenged, unfiltered blathering. That was not an interview. That was propaganda in which you literally agreed with outright lies on record. #ShameOnNYT

Ummm...they call that listening, not reporting. Grow a pair and ask some tough questions. Maybe even call out a few of the many lies.

He speaks unfiltered every day on Twitter. You had a chance to break the filter and you chose not to even try. Maybe that style of interviewing works with some, but not this airbag.

@maddow In other words, @nymike let Trump hang himself. I for one am grateful he did this, so that the unsupervised Trump made certain that America no longer had ANY DOUBTS re his mental incapacities. That monologue could have been fr The Shining--Heeere's Donnie! (Not for long)

There is NOTHING more important than getting at the TRUTH. THAT IS YOUR JOB. You completely failed. You may as well have handed him a list of questions and a tape recorder and walked away.

I'm certain the NYT would have allowed a President Hillary Clinton to ramble incoherently for 30-minutes to "let the people make their own judgments about her statements."

Trump “speaks” on Twitter all day long uncontested. In an interview format you at least should have called him out on untruths or question his opinions. You are not a journalist, you were his mouthpiece for his lies, strange ideas, and absurd opinions.

Question: has the NYT EVER allowed a political figure ramble? Would you have done that for Obama (doubtful)? Or HRC (definitely not)? Your & Habberman's bias is clear & Thrush before. Btw you had a constant "last time HRC had a press conference clock" where's DJT's? W/HRC emails?

We need a free press that holds public servants accountable for lying to the American people. This president has enough sycophants.
