A more accurate piece of art would be one of the thousands of offshore rigs that haven't exploded and aren't burning. Kind of a hysterical poisoning of the well, so to speak. #surprise.

And why do you think there are so few having accidents? Could it have something to do with safety regulations put in place after disasters like the one in the image to prevent a repeat. Since Trump doesn’t read maybe the image will help him understand the danger of his actions.

No, I expect it's because it is in the companies' interest to protect their investment and their employees as well as the environment. The record of overall safety on these rigs extends much further back than the Obama-era regulations. Reality.

Agreed, they likely have been put in place and changed as technology and methods change over the years. So why get rid of them if they are working and being updated as required? If companies think they can save a buck by not supplying safety gear they will. I’ve seen it 1st hand

"If companies think they can save a buck by not supplying safety gear they will." They're not going to risk equipment worth 10s of millions to save a few thousand. This is the #Hollywood fantasy, not the real world. Witness, again, all the rigs pumping on and on w/o incident.

The filters cost too much to replace you see. We couldn’t even get parts half the time and had to jury rig a system carrying dangerous chemicals. They may not risk equipment but they will risk lives.

Well, define "proper safety gear." Sounds like there were survivors. Besides, the example doesn't scale up to the $650 million or better cost of replacing an offshore oil rig, which doesn't even include the expense of environmental cleanup and victim compensation.

It’s the mindset that thinks putting people in danger to save a buck, that is the issue. It’s the same if they save $10 or a million. The scale doesn’t enter into it. Boots, hazmat suits, respirators that safety gear. By the way, why is it always about Obama? I didn’t mention him

Drilling already has started by the Italian company Eni. He removed restrictions in March.

Put this down as another glowing achievement by the ‘Clown formally known as trump’.....until the next major disaster leaves thousands of communities reeling as history has shown. His stupidity appears boundless and now it seems the American people have grown apathetic about it
